A DAY at the BEACH ... with TWO MONKS? Last year, my wife and I visited Sydney’s famous Manly Beach. As it was a chilly day with a dangerous rip tide, we didn’t tip our toes into the water ... instead we sat near the boardwalk and watched a few surfers taking in the massive waves. Then a couple of Buddhist monks walked by staring admirably at the surfers. I curiously asked them if they had ever surfed. They shook their heads and laughed ... surfing was ok but they LOVED beach volleyball !! They then pointed at the nearby beach volleyball courts where a professional beach volleyball competition was been held. So we walked down to take a closer look and I jokingly asked them if they had entered the competition. Then, the smaller of the two monks playfully pretended to serve a ball, and the taller monk motioned as if to receive the serve. Before too long, the three of us were laughing like young children at the thought of these two playing beach volleyball. Then I asked if I could take their picture ... to which they said YES! So, they gathered themselves up, stood tall and tried to put on a stoic facial expression for the photo. Snap! I then laughed and thanked them for giving me a memory of ... “A Day at the Beach with Two Monks!” #FunContest
Thank you for sharing that special day with us!

BRING on the SUN !! ... Roberto the windsurfer had been disappointed the day before as it had been a calm and dreary day. But the dawn brought a new day with bright sunshine and lots of wind ... perfect for windsurfing! He was excited! So, before he jumped out onto his board after breakfast, I captured this low angle, poolside reflection photo of him joyfully motioning to “Bring on the Sun!” I think the photobombing Rocky the Dog liked the sun too! Cheers!! #FunContest
Reflection adds to the photo, but the story really adds to it.
Recognize this photo from another contest but think you picked a winner with “fun”!

COBBLESTONE SHADOW SELFIES in Vancouver. The upward curves on the right side of this image (to magically look like my wife was floating) were created using the “panorama” setting on my iPhone to first capture the base photo and then finished by cropping off some of the excess. #ShadowsContest
Awesome. Thanks for your explanation on capturing the photo
